Galapagos, Amazon and the Hummingbirds Photography Tour - ON HOLD DUE TO COVID

Join Jonathan Ives and I on a two-week adventure into the Galapagos, Amazon and the Andes with Chris Bray Photography. Starting off with the very best of the Galapagos including giant tortoises, tropicbirds, nesting frigatebirds, boobies, penguins, crabs, iguanas and snorkelling with playful sea lions and turtles on board our luxury private cruise ship. Next, a canoe trip into the Amazon to the renowned Sacha Lodge to photograph monkeys, toucans, macaw parrots, frogs, caimans and more. We then finish with two exclusive lodges overlooking the primary cloud-forest of the Andes, buzzing with dozens of hummingbird species and other wildlife. Patagonia Photography Tour - ON HOLD DUE TO COVID-19

A unique combination of two UNESCO world heritage locations, each boasting some of the world's most dramatic scenery and amazing wildlife! Our incredible photography permits let you stay surrounded by curious Southern Right whales throughout the golden hour aboard our exclusive boat charters and access bull elephant seals down at eye-level from their breeding beach in Argentina rather than the cliff-top lookout. Shoot Chile's world-famous Torres Del Paine national park in perfect lighting with its soaring mountains, azure lakes, golden grasslands and epic glaciers! Then join expert puma trackers in the hopes of capturing photographs of Patagonia's top predator: the elusive puma. Add in armadillos, guanacos (like Llamas), skunks, Patagonian foxes, penguins, sea lions, condors and more, Patagonia truly is one of nature's wonderlands. If you would like to find out more about joining the incredible Jess Bray and I on this adventure, visit Chris Bray Photography or drop me a line on Facebook or Instagram.

Women & Outdoor Adventure Expo - She Went Wild

Australia's largest outdoor and adventure expo is on this Sunday December 3.

I feel super honoured to be exhibiting some of my art, photography and adventures from A Wild Abandon: Awaken the Bear.

I'll be joining exhibitors from all various kinds of sports and hobbies, from camping, hiking, climbing to cycling. Throughout the day, there are workshops that teach practical skills such as knot-tying, foraging, outdoor camping, how to identify flora and reduce waste in the wild.

There will also be exciting talks from seasoned female adventurers. Speakers include best-selling author, Heather Ellis who recently released her book UBUNTU, the story of her motorcycle odyssey around Africa. The She Went Wild stage will also host Lisa Blair, who was just awarded the the Spirit of Adventure award at this year’s Australian Geographic Society Awards. As well as a talk from Lauren Jones who has just completed a 1600k walking expedition the outback with her husband and one-year-old daughter.

Guys and families are welcome too! Kids are free.

Date: 3 December 2017 9:30AM - 4:00PM

'A Wild Abandon: Awaken the Bear' Exhibition

Very excited to announce that the first exhibition in my A Wild Abandon series will be launching in Newcastle at the end of this month.

A hybrid of adventure talk, photographs and pencil illustrations, the exhibition reflects on our last frontiers, pristine environments and the lessons for home.

It's inspired by my journey into the Chilcotin and the National Parks of the US and Canada last year. I'll also be sharing tales from the road, like accidentally cuddling a bat and kayaking with Grizzlies.

The Newcastle Writers Festival Director Rosemarie Milsom will open the exhibition from 7pm on September 29 and there will also be music + tunes from 8pm with the amazing Kylie Jane playing.

It's a little bit of a family affair too, with Ukulele Queen Olivia Green (aka my cousin) also debuting her tunes in a small-set and my sister Abbie Carragher sharing a few pieces from the same journey - where she joined me for four weeks.

Entry is donation and a percentage of prints will go to wildlife organisations connected with the place or animal depicted. Big thanks to Kathmandu and The Edwards. They have been beyond amazing, as always, in supporting me with this.

Art, adventure, nature, music and beer - what more could you need? More info on Facebook

THE 'A WILD ABANDON' SERIES

With 10 per cent of the Earth’s wilderness lost in the last two decades, the A Wild Abandon series is a lifetime body of work dedicated to exploring remote, pristine, unique and/or vulnerable environments, as well as the link between people and place, adventure and art, solitude and instinct. Awaken the Bear is the first exhibition in the series.
